After 163 collective hours and 9 days of filming we have completed “Project Catsnip” our Civic Engagement Project for Leadership Palm Beach County to benefit Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
Project CatSnip is a collaborative effort to end the euthanasia of adoptable animals in Palm Beach County. Last year 12,000 cats entered the Palm Beach County shelter system. 80% of those cats were euthanized.
The main cause of this problem is the reproductive system of the female cat, which can generate over 120 kittens in her lifetime.
The alternative to euthanasia of “community cats” is simply: Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return (TNVR).
The spayed or neutered cat is returned to the colony and the number of cats brought to the county shelter is drastically reduced.
With the help of Leadership Palm Beach County’s public relations campaign, Countdown to Zero (C2Z), we hope to reach this goal by 2024. Team members include Pam Figoras, Lili Finke, Ed.D.,Deana R. Mccrea, Kevin Murray, Pam Sartory, Eddie Stephens, and Deb Willard. Attached below is our final project submission.
